My gladiators

This is Carson's 2nd Halloween costume. We were invited to a Halloween party and we wanted to be a family theme. It was a ton of fun dressing up together! We went to the mall and trick or treated with friends there first. Carson got the idea of going from person to person (unless he got distracted by a crazy costume) but he didn't understand the candy in the pail part. He would hold it out and then when the person would try to put the candy in his pail, he would quickly pull it back. We would have to hold his arm out for him. He thought they were trying to take his pail away. It surprised us that he pretty much carried his pail the whole time and then when it got heavy with candy, he dragged it on the ground. I felt terrible because when we got to our friends party he was walking with one arm tipped to the side which was the arm he carried his pail with. After a few minutes of that he ran around like normal which made me feel much better. It shocked us how much energy he had! He missed his 2nd nap but he pretty much walked the entire mall by himself. We would pick him up occasionally but he had a ton of fun just exploring the new environment. We were more exhausted then he was by the end of the night. It was also adorable watching Josh and Carson walk around together with their matching outfits. It melted my heart. This Halloween was more fun than I ever expected it to be. I never thought that our 11-month old son would be capable of trick or treating. He did require some help, but he was much more capable than I thought he would be at this age. People kept treating him like he was older and should know what to do (i.e. say trick or treat). I kept wanting to explain that he's still a baby! We are already excited for next year and are brainstorming what our family theme can be.

This is Carson's first Halloween costume (we had two for him). Grandma Bonnie got him this one and he was extremely adorable in it. He had no idea he was in a costume. He kept giving us these "what's your deal" look as we were freaking out over how cute he was. He got his first piece of Halloween candy from Grandma Sue and he had lots of fun chewing on the wrapper. We never did open it for him.

Our little rocker. Daddy was trying to teach him how to play guitar hero.

We spent a Sunday up at Greenbluff a couple of weeks ago with some friends of ours and their babies. We started out by going through their corn maze and then went and picked out a very large pumpkin. Carson had sooo much fun. I set him down in the pumpkin patch and he just went crazy. He was squealing the whole time he walked from pumpkin to pumpkin. We picked out a very large and beautiful pumpkin but then when we went to carve it for Halloween it was so rotten it couldn't be used :(. We paid a lot of money for that pumpkin too! It stank so bad that while Josh was cutting open the top, Josh asked me if Carson had done something in his pants. I checked, he was all clean. But then we kept getting these whiffs. Finally, Josh opened the top and we just about lost our dinner. Josh was still determined to use it since we paid money for it and he went outside with it and attempted to clean it out and finally he came running back inside gagging. Luckily we had two other pumpkins that we each carved and were very cute and festive.

He loves finding things from the kitchen and then dragging them all over the house. We had some apples that he kept getting into. We would find them in random places, like in the couch cushions or in his toy basket. Lately he's been trying to play with our potatoes.
